About
It all started when…
Jenna Geueke began teaching violin lessons at 14 years old. With 9 years of study under her belt, it seemed sensible to help beginner students. In 2012, she leapt from her job and took a chance teaching piano, violin, and guitar full-time. Since then, Jenna-G Music, LLC has grown to include more teachers, offering instruction on a variety of instruments, and many happy students. We hope you’ll join us!
Jenna Geueke can’t remember a life before music. Her parents had a rule that each child must study an instrument, and she fell in love with the violin. As she grew, she learned guitar, began singing, and eventually added the piano to her repertoire. At 14 years old, she began teaching, and at 16 years old began performing with the Marquette Symphony Orchestra. Jenna went on to study Music Education at Northern Michigan University. She has performed with classical, jazz, celtic, blues, rockabilly, country, bluegrass, folk, rock, and funk ensembles (or bands). With 28 years of study and 19 years of teaching, Jenna combines a wealth of experience with a warm demeanor to guide students of all ages in their musical pursuits. She now has a banjo and accordion she plans to master, as she is never done learning herself.
Leaf McFadden has been immersed in music and art from a young age. Throughout their upbringing, Leaf was an active participant in choir, show choir, band, musical theatre, and color guard. This deep-seated love for the fine arts led Leaf to pursue a degree in Music Education at the University of Texas at Austin. During their time at university, Leaf not only performed in choir and a cappella groups but also gained valuable teaching experience. For three years, they instructed private lessons and group classes - teaching voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, rock band, glee club, and pre-K and toddler group classes. Additionally, Leaf has experience teaching music to multiple age groups in Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. Leaf is dedicated to fostering a lifelong appreciation for music in their students and helping them develop enduring musical skills.
While teaching music was never her calling, Jo was always drawn to playing music. From the early age of 6 with the piano, through middle school and college with the euphonium, and now into her 30s with the mandolin, having music in her life was a given. However, her real passion is interfacing and interacting with people. Jo has worked as a manager of a major retail chain, a barista, bartender, waitress, ESL teacher, and department coordinator, and is now reprising her role as an administrative assistant once again. Her addition to the Jenna G Music team will give the teachers more time to focus on the important things - the students!
